On-call advocates are available 24 hours a day to provide women who have been battered with information, support, advocacy and referrals within the legal, social service, medical, mental health systems. Project P.E.A.C.E. advocates also respond immediately to incidents of domestic abuse, providing crisis intervention, safety planning, listening to the woman's concerns, and offering her assistance in obtaining available options.
Legal advocates provide assistance in filing Orders for Protection (restraining orders) and provide accompaniment to the family courts hearing. Legal advocates also provide information, support, and accompaniment in the criminal court system—ensuring that the victim of assault is aware of her rights, and making the court aware of her wishes in regard to the case.
Currently, Project P.E.A.C.E. provides educational support groups for battered women. Support groups provide a safe, non-judgmental environment for battered women to gain support, understanding and insight in regards to their situation.
